About Evolve Boutique

The concept for Evolve Boutique was swirling around in my subconscious for awhile, but it took a serendipitous mix for the idea to come to life. I realized that some of my favorite items of clothing and accessories were "re-purposed." They had started out in one form and evolved into something else: a wallet made from belts, a purse crafted out of a motorcycle jacket, a recycled cashmere coat. I was going through a time of growth, too; my kids were getting older, the youngest of whom said to me one day, "Mom, when are you gonna get a job?" The neighborhood was changing. A space, which I knew had once been home to a thriving business, became available within walking distance to my house. I thought that combining great casual lines and boutique brands, with a special focus on earth friendly clothing and accessories, would appeal to other people as much as it did me.

Finally, with the support and encouragement of my family and especially my partner, I decided to jump. Things moved quickly at this point. I literally woke up one day with the name "Evolve," which perfectly encapsulates so many of these ideas: the life of those re-purposed items, how the concept for the store took shape, the growth and change we as individuals experience, and how we as a people must redefine our impact on the environment. The pièce de résistance was my oldest daughter's design for the logo. The butterfly not only represents growth and change, but our butterfly literally is the word "evolve": look closely and you will notice that the markings of the butterfly comprise the letters of evolve.

I really love the hunt and have searched everywhere to find the best that eco-friendly and more mainstream design has to offer. I would love to be the store that you shop at first to find something special for yourself or a unique gift for a friend.
